Bali by the Numbers: June Arrivals to Bali Up 9.37% as Bali Headed to End 2011 with 2.5 million Foreign Visitors.

Foreign tourist arrival figures for Bali are in for June showing 240,154 visitors and representing an increase in arrivals of 9.37% over June 2010.
Total arrivals for the first half of 2011 totaled 1,271,470 – an improvement of 10.71% over H I of 2010.
If Bali sustains the current 10.71% growth rate, it will end the year with 2.52 million foreign visitors.

Development by Major Markets
Australia – Far and away, Australia continues to dominate Bali’s arrivals. Month-on-month arrivals improved 11.61% in June with 72,350 visitors. Seen on an aggregate for the first half of the year, Australian arrivals are up 25.48% with Australians representing a 27.59% market share of all Bali arrivals.
Peoples Republic of China – The PRC is now the second largest source of inbound visitors to Bali. June arrivals from the PRC totaled 19,363. This is an increase of 31.49% over June 2010 arrivals (10,761). On a year-on-year basis, PRC arrivals are up 7.97%.
Japan – Once the undisputed leading source of Bali arrivals, Japan has now slipped into third rank. Reflecting the severe economic downturn and the aftermath of the March earthquake-tsunami-nuclear meltdown, June arrivals from Japan at 13,606 decreased 32.94% from the same month one year before. On a cumulative basis for the first six months of 2011, Japanese arrivals have decreased -26.07%.
Malaysia – Malaysia is now the fourth largest source of foreign visitors to Bali with 16,544 arrivals in June, an increase of 4.25% over June 2010. Malaysian arrivals covering the first six months of 2011 are up 17.72%.
Taiwan – Now holds the 5th ranking as the source of foreign visitors to Bali. June arrivals from Taiwan hit 13,205 – up 22.71% over June 2010. Seen year-on-year for the first six months of 2011, Taiwan arrivals are down 1.68%.
South Korea – South Korean arrivals now rank #6 against all Bali arrivals. June saw 11,119 South Koreans come to Bali – an improvement of 3.28% over June 2010. Year-on-year South Korean arrivals are up a slight 0.28%
United Kingdom – Visitors from the United Kingdom now rank number 7 among all Bali arrivals. June saw 8,531 U.K. residents come to the island, up 3.80% from June 2010. Year-on-year, U.K. arrivals are up 8.9% for the first six months of 2011.
France – At 7,050 - French arrivals improved 1.34% for June 2011 over the same month in 2010. On a cumulative basis, French visitors are up 3.4% for the first six months of 2011. French arrivals now rank 8th among all foreign arrivals for the island.
Russia – Russian arrivals decreased 16.71% month-on-month in June 2011 with 3,151 arrivals. For the first half of the year Russian arrivals are up 20.6%. Russia is now the 9th biggest source of island arrivals.
U.S.A. – Despite their troubled economy, 8,176 total U.S. arrivals represented an improvement of 20% as compared to the same month in 2010. Now the 10th most important source of visitors to Bali, U.S.A. arrivals are up 18.28% for the first six months of the year.
Germany – While German arrivals increased 11.04% month-on-month for June 2011 with 6,908 visitors. Seen on the aggregate for the first six months of the year, German arrivals are down 3.04%. Germans now represent the 11th largest source of island visitors.
The Netherlands – Dutch visitors totaled 4,956 in June 2011 – a decrease of 13.16% over June 2010. Year-on-year for the first six months of 2011, Dutch visitors are down 17.88%. The Dutch are now the 12th largest source of visitors to Bali.
Cumulative Arrivals by Geographic Region
Bali is demonstrating growth from all regions of the world. ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific now represent a 57% market share of all foreign arrivals to Bali.
