Hollywood leading man Richard Gere arrived in Bali on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, after a visit with his family to the ancient Buddhist monument of Borobudur in Central Java.

Gere arrive in Bali at 10:15 a.m. on a Tuesday morning flight from Yogyakarta to Bali. Seeking privacy for a family vacation, Gere avoided the press and headed directly for his private retreat at the Amankila Resort on the eastern shores of Bali.

Gere, a Buddhist and disciple of the Dalai Lama, was said to be deeply inspired by his visit to the world’s largest Buddhist monument of Borobudur in Magelang, Central Java.
